So I bought some new earrings, and they are the captive metal ball style.
I got the small meta balls out with much difficulty and now it feels impossible to get the balls back in.
I've tried everything and now I have damaged the metal ball by scratching the metal on it. I don't know how to get it back in and its becoming frustrating for me. Should I have a professional do it? Or is there some trick I'm missing here? :(

Hi,
I recently realized that I don't know how to take my earring out. It's a ring with a bead connecting it and I can't get the bead out. Does any one know how this is done?

Please write back as I really need to get it out temporarily.

The ring is a spring. The bead is held in the gap of the ring by the spring tension of the ring. Use a pair of snap-ring pliers (the expanding kind, where the jaws spread when you squeeze the handles) to gently spread the ring gap, and the bead will fall out.

Reverse the process to insert te bead. Make sure that the gap is LESS than the bead diameter. Mate one of the indents on the bead with one side of the gap in the ring. Spread the gap just enough to rotate the bead to line up the other indent with the other side of the gap, and when you let go of the pliers, the ring will grab the bead and hold it in place.
